Corrections and concerns

Anyone can challenge something The Global Risks Alliance (GRA) has published, raise an integrity concern or complain about a decision, without membership or payment. This page sets out each route, how it is designed to be handled and how outcomes are recorded. Corrections become recorded versions, never silent edits. The acknowledgement gives a reference and names the next step. This page belongs to trust and integrity.

01In brief

The short answer.

Corrections and concerns at GRA is the set of routes by which anyone can challenge something GRA has published, raise an integrity concern or complain about a decision, without membership or payment. Corrections become recorded versions, never silent edits, and every challenge leaves a record.

Report to outcome.

How a correction moves on The Global Risks AllianceA report is acknowledged and triaged; a reviewer not involved in the original work assesses it; the outcome is a new version with its history or a reasoned decline, and the reporter is told either way. Design of the workflow, not a record.

05Process

How a challenge is designed to move.

  1. 01

    Acknowledge

A reference and the next step are given in the acknowledgement.

  2. 02

    Assess

The concern is assigned to someone not responsible for the work or decision in question.

  3. 03

    Decide

The outcome is decided with reasons, which are given to the person who raised it.

  4. 04

    Record

Upheld corrections are published on corrections and updates; other outcomes are kept on record.

  5. 05

    Review

A person who disagrees with the outcome can ask for it to be reviewed.

06What helps

A useful challenge in four lines.

  • The page or publication, with its version and date if shown
  • The statement you are challenging, quoted exactly
  • Why you believe it is wrong, and the evidence you rely on
  • How you would like to be contacted, if at all

GRA is not an emergency service. In immediate danger, contact your local emergency services.

07Key terms

Terms used on this page.

Each term as this page uses it. Where a standard-setting body defines the term, the wording follows that body.

TermDefinition
CorrectionA published notice that amends an error in a work whose main findings stand.
Silent editA change to a published record made without a new version, notice or date.
Grievance mechanismA project-level process for receiving and resolving complaints.
08Records and connections

Challenges leave a record.

A correction is never a silent edit, and superseded versions stay visible, marked as superseded. Earlier statements without a dated, sourced record are withdrawn from use, as explained on claims and programme status. The conduct process for members is described on professional conduct and complaints. The other pillar institutions run their own routes, such as GCRI corrections and concerns and GRF corrections and concerns.

09Questions

Questions and answers.

Do I need to be a member to correct something?
No. Anyone can challenge a public GRA statement, without membership or payment.
Can I raise a concern anonymously?
You may, though it can limit how fully a concern can be investigated and how the outcome can be shared with you.
How long will it take?
No response time is promised. The acknowledgement gives a reference and names the next step, and you will be told if the matter needs longer review.
What if the concern is about GCRI or GRF?
Each institution handles concerns about its own work. GRA will tell you where to write if your concern belongs with another institution.

Start with an enquiry.

The current service level is R0: information and enquiries. An enquiry receives a reference and names the next step; applications, payments, compute allocations and registrations open only when their team, terms and review capacity exist.
