01In brief

The short answer.

Sovereign Capital Nexus tools are the public technical views the platform releases on sovereign and public finance: maps, model descriptions and sector scenarios, each with its time and space reference, sources, licence and uncertainty. Analysis runs in Nexus Foundry for authorized projects, and data that is not released is not available through these pages.

Scoping to review.

Canvas · scoping to reviewDesign, not a record
Analytical and data resources: from layers to a published mapLayers are ingested with their licences, reprojected and harmonised, analysed (overlay, zonal statistics, indices), checked for uncertainty and published as a map with its passport. Design of the process, not a record of a run.

03Geography

Connected activity in the Gulf.

Night-time lights and population density, the footprint of electrified, connected activity, framed on the Gulf; each layer is a dated NASA product.

The interactive map needs JavaScript; the layer list and sources are below.

Sovereign Capital Nexus maps, models and scenarios.

Sovereign Capital Nexus tools are released only after review, with sources, time and space reference and uncertainty.

MapsHazard by country beside debt
ModelsAsset-liability models
ScenariosJoint shock scenarios

In Sovereign Capital Nexus, a released map states its hazard layer and resolution, a model its assumptions and validation, and a scenario its narrative, for example a disaster with a commodity price fall. Values shown before release are design values.

06Build environment

Working with the tools.

Analysis runs in Nexus Foundry for authorized projects. Public pages show released views only, each with its time and space reference and its rights.

07Key terms

Terms used on this page.

Each term as this page uses it. Where a standard-setting body defines the term, the wording follows that body.

TermDefinition
Public-safe releaseA recorded decision on the detail at which a layer may be published without exposing sensitive sites or people.
Coordinate reference systemThe definition that ties coordinates to locations on Earth, catalogued with EPSG codes.
Model cardA short document describing a model's intended use, training data, performance and limits.
