- A fund, an investment adviser or a broker-dealer
- An insurer, reinsurer or insurance intermediary
- A rating agency, or a body that certifies people, products or projects
- A transaction platform, exchange or payment service
Know where the evidence stops before you rely on it.
A financial reader needs to know exactly what an industry body is, and is not, before relying on its work. Here are the commitments of The Global Risks Alliance (GRA): the boundary it never crosses, how cooperation between competitors stays lawful, how conflicts and sponsors are managed, the standard its evidence meets and how anyone can challenge it.
- BoundaryNo lending, underwriting, rating, investment, approval or execution
- CompetitionPrecompetitive work only, under a written competition policy that counsel reviews before membership opens
- EvidenceOne label per claim, limits beside findings, missing data shown as missing
- ChallengeOpen to anyone, without membership or payment
- ConcernsA route for every kind
Readiness is not approval
GRA prepares evidence. It never acts on it.
GRA’s research and readiness work stays separate from every regulated financial act. A competent party that receives it reviews it and decides on its own authority.
- Lends, underwrites, rates, invests or approves
- Advises anyone on buying, selling or issuing a security or financial product
- Solicits, introduces or recommends investors, lenders or insurers, or negotiates, arranges, places or executes a transaction
- Takes pay tied to any transaction, or holds or moves money for anyone
- Promises funding, cover or capital as a result of its work
Four states that are never the same.
Participation, endorsement, admission and legal power are distinct. GRA’s principles keep them apart wherever its name appears.
- 01
Participation is not authority
A member, council participant or contributor cannot speak for GRA, a consortium or a public authority.
- 02
Readiness is not approval
A dossier states fitness for a next step. It is never a rating, a certificate or a decision.
- 03
Visibility is not endorsement
A name or logo on a GRA page, or GRA’s name on another page, endorses nothing.
- 04
Stewardship is not execution
GRA stewards evidence and cooperation; execution stays with the competent actor.
Cooperation on evidence, never on markets.
GRA brings competitors together, so every meeting, working group and exchange of information runs under safeguards, set out in a written competition policy that counsel reviews before membership opens.
Prices, premiums, rates, fees, wages, bids, underwriting, lending or coverage terms, capacity, and individual customers or suppliers.
Market, customer or territory allocation, collective refusals to deal, collective commitments on which sectors, firms or projects to finance, insure or invest in, or exclusionary standards.
A member’s confidential or competitively sensitive information. Research data is aggregated so that no firm can be identified.
The design calls for a written agenda and minutes for every meeting, and for the chair to stop any discussion that strays. Report a competition-law or conduct concern in confidence to the integrity and conduct concern form. How the safeguards apply to members is set out on Membership.
No one can buy a finding.
Five commitments, set out in written policies before the work they govern opens.
| Safeguard | What it means |
|---|---|
| Sponsors cannot approve publication | No sponsor or member may approve, delay or suppress a publication, or change its evidence |
| Funding grants no ownership | Paying for work does not transfer ownership of its findings or data |
| Conflicts declared | Contributors and reviewers declare interests; a declared conflict leads to recusal where it bears on a decision |
| Funding disclosed | The source of funding for a piece of work is published with it |
| Rights retained | Participants keep their background rights; membership transfers none |
Every claim carries its kind and its limits.
A modelled figure must never be read as an observed one. Four standards make sure it is not.
Each finding is labelled observed, published statistics, institution-reported, estimated, modelled, forecast, scenario, expert judgement or unknown. A scenario is never presented as a forecast of loss.
Data is used under its licence and source permission. Permission to publish a finding does not grant the right to redistribute raw data.
This site has its own privacy notice and controller. An enquiry is used to answer it and to keep a record of it, and personal and confidential data is handled within the rights granted. Requests about personal data go to the privacy request form.
Missing data is shown as missing, never as zero. Illustrations on these pages carry example values and say so.
What operates now, and what does not yet.
GRA describes in the present tense only what operates now. Information and enquiries are open today.
- An enquiry receives a reference. Applications, contributions and engagements open only when their team, terms and review capacity exist.
- No membership count, partner, fee or performance figure is published without a dated, sourced record.
- Earlier statements on GRA pages, including figures, capability descriptions and status claims, are withdrawn from use until each has such a record.
- A reported capability is labelled as reported until it is independently verified.
A route for every kind of concern.
Each route has its own address, and none needs membership or payment. Every concern then runs the same four steps.
| Route | How it is handled | Write to |
|---|---|---|
| Correction or integrity concern | Open to anyone, without membership; reviewed by the responsible editor or source owner. A correction becomes a recorded version, never a silent edit. | the integrity concern form |
| Privacy and rights request | Handled by the privacy queue under this site’s privacy notice | the privacy request form |
| Security report | Describe the issue and where you found it, without sending exploit details or personal data in a first message | the security report form |
| Competition-law or conduct concern | Raised in confidence and reviewed outside the meeting or activity concerned | the integrity and conduct concern form |
| Complaint about a decision | Reviewed by someone not responsible for the contested decision, with reasons given | the integrity concern form |

Readable by everyone who needs it.
Designed to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA; we test pages and fix barriers we find; report a barrier to the privacy or contact address, the privacy request form or the contact form, naming the page concerned or the format you need.
The maps on this site have expert tools that run in your browser; files you add to them are never uploaded. How the map tools work.
Questions about trust and integrity at GRA.
Can I rely on a GRA dossier to make a financial decision?
Why do some older GRA statements no longer appear?
Do I need to be a member to correct something?
What should I do if a GRA meeting strays into prices or customers?
Does a sponsor see findings before publication?

Where these commitments apply.
Challenge anything GRA publishes.
Corrections and concerns are open to anyone. The acknowledgement gives a reference and names the next step, and review is designed to sit with someone not responsible for the work in question.
