Board and governance

The Global Risks Alliance (GRA) is a nonprofit corporation registered in Nevada, United States, operating as a business league for the financial services industry. Its board, oversight and legal identity are governed by its corporate documents. This page sets out how GRA is designed to be governed and what it will publish about that governance. It applies one rule throughout: a governance fact appears here only when a record supports it, and a document is never described as in force until it is adopted and reviewed. See About GRA for the institution as a whole.

01In brief

The short answer.

GRA's board and governance are those of a nonprofit corporation registered in Nevada, operating as a business league, governed by its corporate documents. The page sets out how GRA is designed to be governed and what it will publish about that governance, with one rule: a governance fact appears only when a record supports it.

Mandate to authority.

How The Global Risks Alliance is governedA mandate sets the platform's scope; an editor and reviewers govern what it publishes; programmes and the community supply the work; the integrity route handles corrections; authority over decisions stays outside. Design of the governance, not a record.

04Corporate governance

Records first, then roles.

GRA is not organized for profit. Its purpose is the common business interest of the financial services industry, not the private business of any member. The corporate documents that create GRA set out who holds authority to act for it, how decisions are made and how its purpose is protected.

No row on this page implies that a document has been adopted. Each entry changes only when its record exists.

06Consortium relationships

A shared programme does not merge governance.

GRA leads Nexus Consortiums together with The Global Centre for Risk and Innovation (GCRI) and The Global Risks Forum (GRF). Nexus Foundry is operated at national and regional level by Nexus Consortiums through their host and lead organizations, within a multilateral programme led by three pillar not-for-profit institutions, GCRI, GRF and GRA, on a public-private-planet partnership. Each pillar institution keeps its own governance, finances and liability. GCRI works through GCRI Canada, its lead organization and the Consortium Secretariat, and GCRI US, a separate organization with its own legal identity. GRF governs the annual Nexus Universe programme. GRA is not the legal parent, agent or treasury of any consortium, and an agreement between the institutions is described here only when a record supports it. GCRI's own governance is set out on About GCRI and GRF's on Governance and trust.

09Questions

Questions and answers.

Who is on the GRA board?
GRA names directors and officers only with a current, verified record. Until such records are published here, nobody should cite this site as evidence that they hold a GRA role.
Does the board approve GRA research findings?
Findings carry their evidence labels, methods and limits, and follow review and correction. GRA's design is that no sponsor or member may approve a publication or change its evidence by virtue of funding or membership.
Does GRA govern the national consortiums?
No. National and regional consortiums operate through their host and lead organizations. GRA leads the finance, insurance and development-readiness interface of the programme and holds no authority over a consortium.
Where can I raise a governance concern?
Write to integrity@globalriskalliance.com. The acknowledgement gives a reference and names the next step.
