01In brief

The short answer.

Trust, rights and status at Reinsurance and Catastrophe is the public record of who publishes the platform, how its results are labelled, how data rights are protected and what the platform is today. The Global Risks Alliance (GRA) publishes it and controls the personal data it holds. Being named, listed or published on the platform is not an endorsement, certification or approval.

Report to outcome.

How a correction moves on Reinsurance and CatastropheA report is acknowledged and triaged; a reviewer not involved in the original work assesses it; the outcome is a new version with its history or a reasoned decline, and the reporter is told either way. Design of the workflow, not a record.

03Geography

Activity and exposure in the Gulf of Mexico coast.

For antitrust, independence and financial perimeter, in GRA's spatial-finance reading, the map opens on night lights, population density and flood water with built-up and settlement extent from NASA GIBS, framed on the Gulf of Mexico coast; every other NASA layer, live feed and forecast waits in the layer list.

The interactive map needs JavaScript; the layer list and sources are below.

04Status

What the platform is, today.

  • Reinsurance and Catastrophe is in development. Its pages set out its scope and how it works, and its activities, records and services are published here as each one opens.
  • The current service level is R0: information and enquiries. An enquiry receives a reference and names the next step; applications, payments, compute allocations and registrations open only when their team, terms and review capacity exist.
  • GRA is a nonprofit business league for the financial services industry. It does not lend, underwrite, rate, invest, advise on or arrange transactions, and readiness work is not approval.
05Safeguards

The safeguards specific to Reinsurance and Catastrophe.

  • No discussion or publication of rates-on-line or prices.
  • No discussion or publication of capacity views.
  • No discussion or publication of placement or broking.
  • No discussion or publication of ratings of cat bonds.
  • Competitors in Reinsurance and Catastrophe never exchange contract terms or cedant exposure files.

See the GRA competition and antitrust safeguards that apply to Reinsurance and Catastrophe.

These Reinsurance and Catastrophe safeguards sit within GRA's written competition policy, which counsel reviews before membership opens.
