Analytical and data resources: from layers to a published mapLayers are ingested with their licences, reprojected and harmonised, analysed (overlay, zonal statistics, indices), checked for uncertainty and published as a map with its passport. Design of the process, not a record of a run.

01In brief

The short answer.

Public Finance and Sovereign Debt tools are the public technical views the platform releases on sovereign and public finance: maps, model descriptions and sector scenarios, each with its time and space reference, sources, licence and uncertainty. Analysis runs in Nexus Foundry for authorized projects, and data that is not released is not available through these pages.

02Geography

Connected activity in Africa.

For analytical and data resources, in GRA's spatial-finance reading, the map opens on night lights and population density with night lights tonight from NASA GIBS, framed on Africa; every other NASA layer, live feed and forecast waits in the layer list.

The interactive map needs JavaScript; the layer list and sources are below.

Public Finance and Sovereign Debt maps, models and scenarios.

Public Finance and Sovereign Debt tools are released only after review, with sources, time and space reference and uncertainty.

MapsHazard beside debt
ModelsDebt dynamics
ScenariosDisaster scenarios

In Public Finance and Sovereign Debt, a released map states its hazard layer and resolution, a model its assumptions and validation, and a scenario its narrative, for example a debt path through a disaster. Values shown before release are design values.

05Build environment

Analysis runs in Nexus Foundry for authorized projects. Public pages show released views only, each with its time and space reference and its rights.

06Key terms

Terms used on this page.

Each term as this page uses it. Where a standard-setting body defines the term, the wording follows that body.

TermDefinition
Public-safe releaseA recorded decision on the detail at which a layer may be published without exposing sensitive sites or people.
Coordinate reference systemThe definition that ties coordinates to locations on Earth, catalogued with EPSG codes.
Model cardA short document describing a model's intended use, training data, performance and limits.

Can I use the data?
Each released view states its licence and terms. Data that is not released is not available through these pages.
