The Global Risks Alliance (GRA)
Who takes part in AI and Financial Model Risk, what they contribute and how moderation and privacy work.
The AI and Financial Model Risk community is the network of model risk teams and quantitative validators who contribute expertise, review and data to its work on artificial intelligence and financial stability. They take part through moderated subject groups and working groups. Rules apply equally to all, interests are declared, and taking part gives no authority over findings.

| Profession | Typical question they bring to AI and Financial Model Risk |
|---|---|
| Model risk managers and validators | How to govern generative AI? |
| Data scientists in finance | Do explanations help? |
| AI governance leads | How do common models herd? |
| Supervisors | How to govern generative AI? |
The themes proposed for AI and Financial Model Risk are generative AI governance, explainability and drift monitoring. Each would run only once moderation, terms and a written competition policy are in place, and none would discuss model validations for firms.
Each term as this page uses it. Where a standard-setting body defines the term, the wording follows that body.
| Term | Definition |
|---|---|

| Conflict of interest | A situation in which financial, professional or personal interests could compromise, or appear to compromise, judgement in research or review. |
| Personal data | Any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person, directly or indirectly, such as a name, an identification number, location data or an online identifier, as the EU General Data Protection Regulation defines it. |
| Model validation | Independent testing that a model performs as intended and is fit for a stated use. |

The current service level is R0: information and enquiries. An enquiry receives a reference and names the next step; applications, payments, compute allocations and registrations open only when their team, terms and review capacity exist.
