Middle East and North Africa region
The Middle East and North Africa programme addresses some of the most water-stressed systems on earth, the transition of major energy economies, extreme heat, and maritime and overland corridors of global importance. Each country keeps control of its data and its decisions. The Global Risks Alliance (GRA) offers the financial perspective: energy-transition exposure in sovereign and public balance sheets, trade-finance and maritime-insurance questions for strategic corridors, and compute concentration in regional financial centres. The programme is forming. See Regional programmes.

The short answer.
The Middle East and North Africa region, seen from GRA, is the Nexus Consortiums region of water-stressed systems, major energy economies in transition, extreme heat and corridors of global importance. GRA offers the financial perspective, such as energy-transition exposure in sovereign and public balance sheets and trade-finance dependence; the region is forming.

How GRA reads the region's exposure.
Water scarcity, extreme heat and the energy transition are the region's defining financial risks. GRA reads water stress and heat layers against agriculture, utilities and industrial assets, and transition pathways against hydrocarbon revenue for fiscal context. Water evidence comes from GCRI groundwater and aquifers; energy evidence from GCRI energy security.
What the region's financial centres are designed to examine.
- Energy-transition exposure in sovereign and public balance sheets.
- Trade-finance and maritime-insurance questions for strategic corridors.
- Technology and compute concentration in regional financial centres.
- Readiness work on these questions follows the translation method; none is a finding until evidence is assembled and reviewed.
