02Reviewer guidelines

Read the guidelines.

The reviewer guidelines tool of GRA Capital Readiness follows. How far finance and insurance are ready for the risks in scope: protection gaps, disclosure practice, portfolio readiness and the capacity of balance sheets, read on a ladder of evidence and never as advice or a rating.

Reviewer guidelines

Before you accept

You see the reference, the kind and the subjects first. You declare any conflict of interest before you read the text.

You cannot review work of your own institution, your coauthors or your own. If in doubt, decline and say why.

You hold at most 3 open reviews at once.

Confidentiality

The work is confidential. Do not share it, quote it or use it in your own work.

You write your own review. AI cannot be a reviewer of record.

What you write

You score six criteria from 1 to 5: Significance for global risk and governance, Evidence and sources, Method and reproducibility, Stewardship, scope and claims, Clarity and structure, Ethics, consent and data protection.

You give a recommendation. You write comments to the author, who reads them. You may write confidential comments to the editor, who alone reads them.

Be specific and kind. Do not name yourself in comments to the author.

Timing

Reviews are due within 28 days of the invitation.

We send a reminder before the due date. If you cannot finish, tell the editor early so the work can move.

Open review and credit

You choose whether your name and comments to the author are published after acceptance. You can say no.

An editor verifies each completed review. Verified reviews are recorded. The Academy reviewer credential is not yet available.
