Financial Stability subject groups are moderated forums where macroprudential researchers and systemic-risk analysts discuss open questions in the financial stability field, such as systemic interconnectedness and nonbank financial intermediation. Each group is listed once its moderation, terms and hosting are in place, with its scope and how to join. A group informs the platform's work and has no authority over its findings.

Layers and dates
No Financial Stability group is open yet; each is listed with its status when it opens.
| Proposed group | What it would examine | Out of scope |
|---|---|---|
| Network contagion methods | How do reconstruction methods bias contagion? | assessments of any institution's systemic importance |
| Nonbank leverage | Where does nonbank leverage concentrate? | macroprudential policy recommendations |
| Compound physical-financial shocks | How do physical shocks feed back to the real economy? | market predictions |
Each proposed Financial Stability group would publish its scope, moderator and terms before opening, and would work from BIS statistics, sector aggregates and network models.

| Resolution | The restructuring or orderly wind-down of a failing financial firm by an authority, outside normal insolvency. |
| Global systemically important bank | A bank whose distress would disrupt the global financial system, identified annually by the FSB using BCBS indicators. |

The current service level is R0: information and enquiries. An enquiry receives a reference and names the next step; applications, payments, compute allocations and registrations open only when their team, terms and review capacity exist.
